Guest Lecturing at Queen’s University

As a seasoned professional in the field of sustainable leadership and social impact, I recently had the opportunity to guest lecture for the new Advanced Leadership for Social Impact Fellowship program at Queen's University. I must say, it was an absolute joy to be a part of such an innovative and forward-thinking program.

The program, which is designed for mid-career professionals looking to deepen their leadership skills and expand their social impact, is truly impressive. The curriculum is comprehensive and covers a wide range of topics, from leadership theory to practical skills such as communication, collaboration, and decision-making.

What sets this program apart from others is its focus on social impact. Participants are encouraged to think critically about the complex challenges facing our society and to develop innovative and effective solutions. The program also emphasizes the importance of ethical leadership and social responsibility, which is crucial in today's world.

As a guest lecturer, I had the opportunity to share my expertise on Social Impact with the participants, and discussed topics including:

  • What is social impact? Why is it important?

  • How to create shared value

  • Challenges (constraints, measuring KPIs, etc.)

  • How to foster community engagement

  • How to find and connect with stakeholders

  • And more

I got to engage in meaningful discussions about the topics above and learn about how my students plan to integrate my lesson into their projects and careers. I was impressed by the depth of knowledge and passion demonstrated by the students, who came from a variety of sectors and backgrounds.

It was inspiring to review the students’ work on team projects and to connect with other like-minded professionals.

Overall, I must say that the Advanced Leadership for Social Impact Fellowship at Queen's University is a top-notch program that is making a real difference in the world. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to deepen their leadership skills and make a positive impact on society. As a guest lecturer, it was a joy to be a part of such a transformative experience.
