Community Waste Diversion Drives (E‑Waste, Battery, Textile & Food)

In my role with Loyalist Township, I support the planning and delivery of Community Waste Diversion Drives focused on the collection of e‑waste, batteries, textiles, and food waste. These events are designed to provide residents with clear and accessible opportunities to properly divert materials that do not belong in regular waste streams.

My work on these initiatives includes project planning, communications, timeline coordination, and partnership development. Each drive requires careful collaboration with internal Township teams and external partners to ensure residents clearly understand what materials are accepted, where drop‑offs will take place, and how each event will operate.

Partner coordination is a core part of this work. These drives are often delivered in collaboration with local organizations and community locations, including partnerships associated with sites such as the Amherstview Fire Station. Working closely with partners helps ensure the events are well organized, visible, and accessible to residents.

These waste diversion drives typically see strong participation and provide a reliable way for community members to properly dispose of materials such as electronics and batteries. Supporting the coordination and communication behind these events is an important part of my role with Loyalist Township and contributes to broader waste diversion and environmental goals within the community.
